Meet Scott Cunningham
It could be said that Scott Cunningham had a mid-life crisis and ran off to join the circus. But wait, there’s more.
Scott was working as a professor of criminal justice at Portland State University when Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast, decimating New Orleans. Through sure coincidence, he had gotten to know several musicians from the city in the months before the storm. Post-Katrina, Scott led a fundraising effort for musicians impacted by the storm, raising over $10,000.
The music world drew him in, and by the end of 2005 he was working part-time with the legendary New Orleans band the subdudes. Before he knew it, he was wearing many hats and the occasional Stetson with the subdudes — road management, publicity and media, web master and more. A lifetime of experience, and experiences, fell into place in a few short years.
Scott has managed a national band, overseen a CD release campaign, mastered sound engineering working in some of the best music venues across the country, including Red Rocks and Hard Rock Orlando, and produced a live concert aboard an aircraft carrier, the USS Intrepid.
After 20-years in higher education, Scott left academics at the end of 2012 to build his company full time and now brings his talent and experience to the greater Portland area.
